Where to stay in San Miniato

Emiko Davies San Miniato Tuscany

There are plenty of places to stay in San Miniato for a variety of budgets. I have tried to list the places that are most central (those on the historical centre list are all about a 5 minute walk away from Enoteca Marilu, other than Umamma, which is 10 minutes) and some of the ones I’ve actually seen in person but there are also many options in the countryside only 10 minutes drive away if you prefer a countryside stay in an agriturismo. We do not get any commissions on these or have anything to do with the listings here but previous guests and friends have given us feedback on these.

You can also see a full list of accommodation in San Miniato from the local tourism office here.

To find out more about parking and ZTL (limited traffic zone) for driving into in historical centre of San Miniato see here.

Note: from January-June 2024, there is a large amount of work being done in Piazza del Popolo (they are redoing the entire piazza and turning it pedestrian but I suspect there will be quite a lot of noise so if you are a sensitive sleeper maybe avoid the piazza!).

In the historical centre:
Le Finestre del Seminario, newly restored, minimal, clean rooms in a 17th century Seminary (above) ($)
Dimora del Grifo on Booking ($), simple rooms with a view (shared bathrooms)
Hotel San Miniato, an old school hotel housed in an ex-13th century monastery. Private parking is handy here. ($$)
Casa Profeti on Airbnb ($$, apartment with panoramic terrace, very close to the enoteca, rare find that has elevator!)
Casa Raffaello on Airbnb ($$, large modern apartment with panoramic terrace near Piazza del Popolo)
Casa Nina on Airbnb ($$, same host/location as Casa Raffaello above)
Renaissance apartment on Airbnb ($$, open living, 2 bedroom apartment with stunning panoramic terrace)
Private villa on Airbnb ($$$, about 20-25 minute walk from the enoteca but with garden and incredible views)
Umamma For something very different, luxury apartment with underground pool in Piazza Bonaparte ($$$$)

In the nearby countryside:

Villa Moriolo, apartments for 4 people + in a restored Tuscan villa
Casale Canigiana, agriturismo with a pool and restaurant (you can also just visit for the food and the pool)
Il Casale di San Miniato, apartments for 4 people + in a typical Tuscan setting with restaurant
Casa Bini, your very own Tuscan farmhouse, suitable for large groups as it has 6 bedrooms
